How we compare betting products

Every sportsbook on the desk is assessed the same way. This page sets out the checks we run, how a score is reached and, just as importantly, what a score does not claim.

Our approach

We review products as a user would, not as a marketing page describes them. Editors open each site, build slips, look at how prices are shown, test the mobile experience and read the rules. We note where a product is strong and where it is thin, because no operator is best at everything.

The checks we apply

Each product is weighed against the same seven areas:

  • Market coverage. How deep each book runs across football, racing and the wider calendar, including secondary markets.
  • Odds presentation. Whether prices are clear, available in fractional and decimal formats and easy to compare.
  • Mobile usability. How the app or responsive site handles building and confirming a slip on a real phone.
  • Bet builder & accumulators. The range, pricing clarity and reliability of same-game builders and multiples where offered.
  • Payments. The deposit and withdrawal methods available and the verification a customer should expect.
  • Terms transparency. How plainly market rules, settlement and offer conditions are written and how easy they are to find.
  • Responsible gambling. Whether deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion are visible and simple to use.

How a score is formed

We translate those checks into an editorial comparison score out of five. The score is a considered judgement rather than a precise calculation, and we let it vary naturally — two products that feel different should not end up with an identical number. We do not publish invented review counts or pretend a score is a statistical average of thousands of users.

What a score is not. It is not an official rating, it is not endorsed by any regulator, and it is not a promise of odds value, winnings, payouts or outcomes. It reflects our opinion at the time of review and may change as the product changes.

Keeping reviews current

Sportsbooks change pricing, markets and tools frequently. We revisit profiles and adjust scores when a product changes meaningfully. Even so, you should always confirm the live terms, markets and rules on the operator’s own site before betting.

Independence

Scores and order are decided on editorial grounds before any commercial arrangement is considered. Affiliate funding never buys a better score — see our affiliate disclosure for how that funding works.
